This week’s theme: The “Eyes” of March
I know many of you are wondering what has happened as a result of the evil umpire. I have my letter all written up to post, but I’m running way late on this project again and wanted to get it done. I don’t want to keep any of you wondering though, so I am happy to say that the ump was fired from working at our little league fields. Vindication is sweet.
Most of the entries for this week’s theme were eyes. I have such a hard time doing what is expected of me (Yes, I can be a very difficult person to deal with. Why do you ask?) and when I thought about this theme I thought about what I see through my eyes in the month of March. And in Texas, when we have had some rain, we have the most beautiful wildflower fields lining the roadways. You will see cars parked on shoulders of highways in front of Bluebonnet patches. (Bluebonnets are our state flower.) They only last for a few weeks so everyone gets their Bluebonnet shots while they can- which is all at the same time.
Wondering how they look close-up?
They’re really beautiful, I’m not sure if the pictures do them justice.
Both shots were taken in manual. I sharpened, removed noise, lowered luminosity, bumped up the blue just a tad, and bumped up the saturation overall. I cropped the second shot, but left the first one alone. I wish the sky showed more in the first shot, but it was very overcast and starting to rain and I didn’t want to take a lot of time trying to figure out how to fix that problem.

I love Bluebonnets! Our neighbors planted a whole garden bed full of wild flowers last year. It was SO pretty. Great shots!
So pretty! You should see the poppy and sunflower fields here- amazing!!!
Oh yes, the pictures do them justice! I miss the bluebonnets on the side of the road. *sigh*
I keep meaning to buy some seeds and trying to get them to grow here but I always forget....oh well, maybe next year.
My brother-in-laws parents live in Texas. My favorite picture of my nieces and nephew are them in a bluebonnet field. So amazingly beautiful.
So beautiful! I would love to see them in person some day.
So pretty! The only wildflowers we have in MS are those weedy yellow flowers that grow on the side of the highway:)
Sooooooooooooooooo pretty!!!!!!!
You need to teach me the Manual stuff for my DSLR!
I really need to write a very angry letter to my employer this week but since they already monitor my social media presence ... I don't dare! Big brother has NOTHING on TU! The bluebonnets are gorgeous! One of Texas' true beauties!
One of these days, I am going to have to come to Texas! Bluebonnets, giant pizzas, giant donuts... yep, I gotta go! :)
So amazing. I want to come visit, but I never get an invite... :(
So insanely beautiful. I want to plant some!
And I'm glad the ump situation has been resolved. How does Jakob feel about it? Does it make sense to him - to see that there were consequences for her inappropriate behavior and that it was NOT.HIS.FAULT? I hope he can love the game again.
They are gorgeous! I don't think I've seen those before:)
Julie, those bluebonnets are breathtakingly beautiful! What a great capture!!
So pretty! I love the color.
Glad some action was taken on the ump. And those flowers are beautiful!
The bluebonnets are amazing. What a beautiful field of them. If I were a leprechaun, I'd live there!
Oh how beautiful. I wish we had bluebonnet fields.
