Letters of Intent

Foursons

Are you shocked that it is February already and wondering where January went?  Did you laugh at Punxsutawney Phil seeing his shadow and the prediction that there would be 6 more weeks of winter because you have yet to see winter?  (All of you who have been snowed-in would be so jealous of our spring-like temperatures in the south.)  Are you bored with American Idol because the judges are no longer making fun of the people trying out but instead just showing sob story after sob story?  Or maybe you just made it to Hollywood!  Write up the who, what, when, where, and why of the happenings of the week (in letter form of course) grab the button from my sidebar, and link up at the bottom. I look forward to your Letters of Intent!

Dear Jakob,

You have no idea how proud I was of you today.  I got to witness you being an incredibly sensitive and kind young man who showed character and integrity without a second thought about how others would react.  A boy in your school who struggles academically needed help.  And while another student got irritated and said ugly things to him, you walked over and helped him without hesitation.  You didn't follow the "crowd" and pick on this boy.  You didn't ignore him and do your own thing.  You didn't huff and puff as you begrudgingly helped him out.  You simply got up and helped out the person who needed help.  Thank you for being such an incredible kid Jakob, it is an honor to be your mother.

Of all the Jakob's in all the world, you're my favorite one.

Love,

Mom

I love that you say he's your favorite Jakob. I love that you posted this so that he can read this in 10 years and see your pride in those words.

And I especially love the amazing person he is. I think it's one of those silver linings... when you have to work harder than everyone else, when you might not be the "normal" kid, or you get made fun of... you either get bitter, or you become more sensitive to others.

What a blessing he is.

Those are the moments that make your heart smile from the inside out. It shows that what we are trying to teach them at home is something they are understanding and putting into practice. Be proud of you too as a parent. Great job Jakob.
